On the Job Week 1!

My internship has kept me very busy so far! It has been a whirlwind of meeting new people, while also experiencing a new culture and experience. There are no set written rules to my internship. However, I am expected to arrive on time each day. Being an intern, I thought I would be treated as one. But the first day my supervisor made it clear that I would be treated like everyone else. I love the feeling that I am needed and wanted here! The communication here is very clear, and I have weekly one on one’s with my supervisor to make sure I am aware of my goals and am happy with them. I love this because, even though I have only had one so far, I feel this will be a great way to get to know my supervisor.
The dress code is very relaxed here. This shows me that my employer is more concerned about the quality of my work than how I dress. Even though we have more guys than girls here, we all interact very well with each other. So far I love my work environment! It is the best mix of work and having fun!

  1. Your supervisor seems really awesome! She really wants you to get as much as possible out of your internship. Where exactly are you working and what do you have to do? I think your supervisor's support will help a lot along the way.

  2. I agree with the statement in your blog post about how having a relaxed dress code truly reiterates the idea that the employers are more concerned with the quality of the work compared to how they dress. I was able to dress however I wanted as well at my summer internship which was extremely nice.
