Intern Tours

Over the last few weeks the interns at Cardinal Health have had the opportunity to participate in different tours to expose them to different aspects of the company.  One of the tours was at the Aviation center where the private planes are kept.  These airplanes are used mostly by the executives to get to and from their meetings across the country and sometimes even around the world.  Our tour guide was the man who helps coordinate all of the flight schedules, but also is a pilot.  He had many interesting stories and insights about the planes and what they are used for most often and by who.  We even learned that there is a commuter plane that goes back and forth between Chicago and Columbus every week that any employee is allowed to fly on for business purposes on a first come first serve basis.

Another tour I was able to participate in was at a nuclear pharmacy.  We learned about the process of making nuclear drugs and how they have to be handled in a special way.  It was interesting to hear about how quickly the drugs need to be transported in order to still be effective to the patient.  We were able to even put on pharmacy lab coats and walk around the pharmacy.  Having worked in a pharmacy before, it was interesting to compare how this nuclear pharmacy compared to the other pharmacy I worked in.  It was a great way to see how different areas of Cardinal Health work.

  1. Cardinal Health sounds like an interesting place to have an internship at. What aspect of health services are they involved in?

  2. Cardinal Health seems like they have a great program for interns and really do a great job motivating you to want to work for them in the future. I feel like this is a great way to have the best employees possible and it is very cool that they are showing you what they are all about.

  4. It is a great program! They are involved in a variety of aspects of healthcare, mostly in delivering products to be used in the hospital and pharmacy but every day I am learning about new avenues they are involved in
