Week 6 and 7

My two final weeks have actually been my busiest and intense weeks of the internship. I have been assigned multiple diligence tasks for upcoming deals that need to be finalized and closed ASAP. Along with this, I have been writing up draft term sheets to provide to the businesses and negotiate these terms to come to a list of agreements that can be made at the time of the deal. Being part of these transactions, I have been exposed to the skills and qualities required to complete the deals. It is more than academic intelligence whereby a lot of it is personality and an individual's ability to connect with the client or the business owner. Having such interpersonal skills is vital in business and especially the type of business where you deal with people on a day to day business. I have been able to learn and absorb a lot during this experience as an M&A intern at NFP and hope to build on the skills and qualities I was exposed to in the future as a professional. It has been a great 7 weeks, and now I head to home to Melbourne, Australia for the first time in a year.

  1. I agree that my last two weeks were crazy. At least all of these experiences will pay off in the end because I am sure they will teach you lessons that will help you in the future. As well, I have been assigned a lot of work and many different tasks these past weeks. It has been tough but I am happy to be doing different tasks and learning more.
