I am grateful to have worked for such an amazing company this summer and I really look up to my bosses! They are great leaders and can always think outside the box that this post will be hard to write for me.
I guess I would start with the inventory. All of the products (sans one item) is geared towards men. I would definitely incorporate some more women's clothing into the store because there is a huge population (including myself, even though I settle for the men's product now) that they are missing in the market.
Another thing that I would do is work on opening a new location. The basis of the cause of my internship is in Detroit, so although there is a store-front in Ann Arbor, I think that opening one in Detroit would also be a good move.
Merit Goodness is doing a great job in advertising, social media, public relations, events to get the name out there, business management, and literally any other think I can think of. My bosses put in so much work to not only sell the product but raise awareness of the charity end of the spectrum that I'm shocked this has yet to sweep the nation. It's only a matter of time, in my opinion!
Happy to hear you learned from your experience at Merit Goodness! Also great that you were able to keep an objective eye throughout your time there and focus on things they could work on and get better at!
