Week 6: New Project

In this week, our team faced the task of helping our employers to finish the SBIR grant application. It was a task that required all of our time and energy because this would hopefully be the fund that will finance the company for upcoming pilots. In order to tackle this large task, we, interns, were split into different jobs. Some of us were given the role to edit and evaluate the quality of the current application text written by our employers. Others were told to find literature references to help clarify ideas within the text. As for me, I looked up budget justification models and information about the specific NIH role guidelines in order to clarify how to write up the roles of the company's employees. In the end, we managed to successfully complete the grant with time to spare. It was significantly improved based upon the remarks of our employers and I'm looking forward to hearing the results of the grant.

Also, I began my new project called Business Model. For this project, my duty is to review the revenue streams of the company's current business model and produce a list of new revenue streams. In order to do this task, I plan on first to investigate the company's closest competitors to see how they are driving in revenue. Hopefully I may be able to come up with some new ideas based upon current market models. In addition, I will do some research in general about revenue streams to see if there is any other forms revenue that the company can consider taking. By the end, I hope to finish this project by next week.
