I
can't believe that my time at Kenneth Cole is over. It is crazy how fast
10 weeks go by! Overall, I really enjoyed my time as marketing intern.
Not only did I learn a tremendous amount about the marketing industry,
but I met some amazing people who I look up to and aspire to be like in the
future. Their hardworking personalities truly represent the great people
in the Kenneth Cole community. This summer has taught me that though
waking up early and working all day is tiring, it definitely has its rewards.
When I saw my efforts paying off and benefiting the Kenneth Cole business
there was nothing more satisfying. My
communication skills were strengthened and my knowledge of a fashion marketing business
was fortified as well.
What
I loved most about my internship was that my boss included me in meetings,
conference calls, e-mails, etc. to really make my internship fulfilling and
complete. What I also loved about my
boss was that he really taught me about the importance of networking. While at my internship, I also met many new
wolverines who worked at Kenneth Cole as well.
This was really nice because I was able to talk to these people about
school and the Ann Arbor community, which helped me feel comfortable.
Kenneth
Cole was truly an amazing first internship and I am excited for what is in
store for me next! I am definitely going
to stay in contact with all the people I have met here!
Liza,
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great experience. I too was interning for a fashion firm and could not be happier with the people that I have met. I hope that you stay in contact with them so that you can keep a good relationship if you want to work for them in the future!
It seems like you had a really good boss. That can make all the difference for jobs/internships. I know this helped me learn a lot this summer and feel like I had a "fuller" internship when my boss would include me in things like fieldwork.
ReplyDeleteIt is great that you gained the feeling that your personal work was making a difference at Kenneth Cole. A lot of internships do not have this potential impact, and it is great that your first internship was such a success. It's awesome that your boss was so attentive in making sure you were kept in the loop with emails and meetings, i'm sure this summer will help you prepare for tons of future jobs!
