Over the past few weeks I have been able to get more involved in the event marketing side of things which is been a great experience since that is where my interest lies. One of our most important events for the summer was our scholarship reception for Warren Moon Crescent Moon Foundation. We held the reception last Saturday at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. This was the first year not holding the event in Las Vegas so their were a few challenges ahead. I had never been to an arena football game and the L.A. Kiss are a new team that was bought by Jean Simmons.
All 6 of the scholarship winners come from one of the cities that Warren Moon had played in, the requirements are for the students to be on track to attend a higher education but the main component is students who give back to their communities and are in need of financial aid help. The scholarship winners were awarded on the field at the end of the 2nd quarter and were able to watch the game from a suit. The kids and their families were all extremely grateful for the weekend that Sports 1 Marketing had provided for them.

ReplyDeleteNot only is this a phenomenal venue in which to be working, but it also sounds like a rewarding experience. I would have loved to see the reaction of the kids as they got presented their scholarships.
