Reflecting on Week 2

My second week felt a lot more productive than week one of my internship. I have become more comfortable with the team I work with. For example, I am now much more comfortable going over to employees I work with as well as my manager to ask for advice on different assignments. I have also set up multiple opportunities to network with different employees at the company. This will provide me with a stronger knowledge of the company, and help me decide if I would like to continue my career there. I have also met other interns and employees for lunch, and have become more accustomed to the early wake ups. For my internship I am putting together presentations and honing my PowerPoint and Excel skills which are valuable in any future job. During breaks I see people huddled around the television watching the world cup. The world cup fever is very strong. I am very happy that I get along well with my team and am comfortable working with them allowing for my work to be pleasant and enjoyable. I am also beginning to get a sense for the type of work and culture of the office, and this will help me decide what sort of work and office culture I want to be a part of in the future. I look forward to week three and sharing my experiences on this blog, as well as learning more through projects and my peers at work.
