Week 3 Challenges

Today is the end of my third week of work and I am definitely starting to get used to my job. This week was a bit challenging because one of the interns quit (she said it was too much work and pressure for her) but I think the challenge is a good thing. Unlike other internships where the interns do not do anything besides run errands and do tedious tasks, I am actually doing A LOT and learning A LOT. But back to the intern quitting…. She was on my team for our intense intern project and now that she quit each of us have double the work. In a way it is easier working with less people, but it definitely makes the job harder when we have more work than we should. On the other hand, I think the fact that my team now has one less person than the other team makes us way more motivated, which is always a good thing.

Another thing I find challenging is time management – sometimes I am doing nothing and other times I am packed with work. Just like any other job, I have to decide what work is most important and what things I need to prioritize before others. And one last thing… Although it is not something I should be complaining about, I wish my job was not five days a week. Especially since I am not getting paid, a day or two off would definitely be nice!

Don’t worry though, there is some good news! I am starting to become very good friends with the other interns. Last night we all went to dinner after work which was tons of fun. We all thought we would be able to work together at this internship but all of us are separated during the day completing very different tasks. Since we don’t have much time to speak to each other or see each other during the day it was really nice to be able to hang out after work.
