Week 2 of DKU internship

The start of my second week has been more interesting and eventful than I thought possible. From the moment I walk through the doors, through the moment I leave for the day, I am always busy with work, interacting with coworkers, other interns and people around the office. It's really amazing. In just a few days I have become very familiar with Microsoft Excel, a program I never thought I would be able to say that I could operate with my eyes closed, let alone enjoy it. Between Excel, organizing, emailing and other odd jobs, I am occupied almost all day long.

My supervisor has allowed me to use my creativity and spirit with each task that I complete so that I am kept on my feet, and get to add my own to spin to things. I have also begun to learn the ins and outs of global licensing, a department I have started to become interested in as a possible career. There are so many different facets to the umbrella of licensing which keep it fresh and interesting -- which is what I like most about it. Although the days are tiring, the people, the work that I complete, and the overall atmosphere of Donna Karan are extremely rewarding, and keep me wanting to come back each day.

  1. Wow Avery, this internship sounds great and very interesting. It is great that you're learning to use Microsoft Excel and doing new jobs that you may not have been able to do before. This sounds like it will be a great experience that will help you in your future as well. Enjoy!
