Week 2
On Monday the whole marketing department was
invited to a breakfast. At the breakfast
we spoke about our weekends and any announcements that had to be made. At the end of the breakfast, one of my
co-workers introduced all the interns in the marketing department. This made me feel so comfortable and actually
apart of the team, for it shows that everyone really does care that we are here
for the summer as well as they do want to get to know us. I also found sweedish fish on my desk with a note that read "keep up with the good work-the marketing team". When I saw the post-it note I couldn't help but smile! Throughout my second week, I have definitely
begun to meet people that I admire and who are already serving as mentors in my
life. I admire that they are all
hard-working, smart, and there for advice, help, or even just as a friend. This week I definitely felt important in the
office, for I was given projects and tasks to do that kept me busy and
learning. I am really excited to start
my third week at work because another intern will be joining our team and
working by my side. I am excited to get
to know he or she. I have also really
enjoyed the fact that a lot of the interns are from all around the world and of
different ages; I am meeting new people everyday.

Great post! I think that a breakfast like that to introduce everyone to the team, and to feel more at home is extremely important to company culture and a productive workplace. Also the fact that the team provides you with notes and compliments on your work shows that the team values you and will only make you improve in the coming weeks both in work quality and team unity.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds great Liza! I think it's really nice that they took you all out to breakfast and want too get to know you.. It definitely shows that they appreciate you/the other interns!
ReplyDeleteThats so great that you were able to be introduced as a part of the team! I agree with Stacy that it's great that they took you out to breakfast to get to know you. It is also great that they are keeping you so busy with the projects they are giving you!
