Blog 1: The First Transition

Although this is my second summer interning at Sports 1 Marketing there is some adjusting to do. With new employees as well as interns and the structure of the business slightly shifting, a place that was so familiar to me just under a year ago seems so new. The first few days were slightly slow with getting readjusted and getting familiar with the new tasks at hand. The office is small with only about 10 paid employees but without a doubt a mighty office bringing in high end clients and making million dollar deals. The CEO Dave is very hands on and if you make a point to make yourself known he will without hesitation to acknowledge you. This summer there are about 20 interns, were all still getting to know each other, surprisingly I am so far the only returner from last summer. Over all the environment of the office is very professional and everyone dresses business casual but if there are big meetings or conferences we step up to business attire. Mostly the office is filled with testosterone as you may expect in a company that evolves around sports but there have been a few women added to keep things organized and add creativity. The over all policy at Sports 1 is to help a lot of people, make a lot of money and have a lot of fun!

  1. This is so cool, it is awesome that you have a ton of other interns to work and hang out with. My internship has 48 other interns and I feel like we take up the whole office, but it makes for an interesting work day!

  2. It's really awesome that your office is so small; I work in a building with thousands of employees, so it's easy to get lost in the shuffle. A hands on learning experience with the CEO, the staff and other interns sounds really valuable and fun.
